    DAY

    Arrival in Paro & transfer to Thimphu

    Welcome to Bhutan! Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, complete immigration and baggage formalities before meeting our local representative. Enjoy a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan's charming capital, passing through picturesque Himalayan valleys and pristine mountain landscapes.

    After checking in to your hotel, spend the rest of the day exploring Thimphu Craft Bazaar, where you can browse authentic Bhutanese handicrafts, textiles, souvenirs, and traditional artwork.

    Thimphu beautifully blends modern development with centuries-old Buddhist traditions, making it one of the world's most unique capital cities.

    Thimphu

    After breakfast, embark on a full-day sightseeing tour of Thimphu, Bhutan's vibrant capital, where ancient traditions blend seamlessly with modern life.

    Visit the Royal Textile Museum to discover Bhutan's rich weaving heritage, followed by the National Library, home to centuries-old Buddhist manuscripts and sacred scriptures. Continue to the Institute for Zorig Chusum (Arts & Crafts School) to witness students preserving Bhutan's traditional arts and crafts, or visit Zangthopelri Lhakhang if the institute is closed.

    Explore the fascinating Simply Bhutan Museum, offering an immersive experience into traditional Bhutanese culture, architecture, and lifestyle.

    After lunch, continue your tour with the Memorial Chorten, one of Bhutan's most revered Buddhist monuments, before visiting the magnificent Buddha Dordenma (Buddha Point), where you'll enjoy panoramic views of the Thimphu Valley. Next, visit the historic Changangkha Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in the valley.

    End the day at the iconic Tashichho Dzong, the impressive fortress that serves as the seat of Bhutan's government and monastic body, showcasing stunning Bhutanese architecture and cultural heritage.

    Thimphu – Punakha (75 km, 3hrs Drive)

    After breakfast, check out from your hotel and enjoy a scenic drive to Punakha via the breathtaking Dochula Pass (3,080 m). On a clear day, the pass offers spectacular panoramic views of the snow-capped Eastern Himalayas and is adorned with the iconic 108 memorial chortens and colorful prayer flags.

    Upon arrival in Punakha, check in to your hotel before visiting the magnificent Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan's most beautiful and historically significant fortresses, situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers.

    Later, embark on a pleasant walk through picturesque paddy fields and traditional villages to Chimi Lhakhang, popularly known as the Temple of Fertility. Dedicated to the legendary "Divine Madman," the temple is revered by couples seeking blessings for children and offers a wonderful glimpse into rural Bhutanese life.

    Return to your hotel after the excursion.

    Day excursion of Phobjikha Valley

    After breakfast, enjoy a scenic excursion to the breathtaking Phobjikha Valley, a pristine glacial valley located at an altitude of approximately 3,000 metres within the Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park. Renowned for its unspoiled natural beauty, the valley is the winter home of the endangered Black-Necked Cranes, which migrate from Central Asia between late October and March.

    Visit the charming Gangtey Monastery, perched on a hill overlooking the valley, and soak in the spectacular Himalayan landscapes, traditional villages, and peaceful surroundings. The valley offers an authentic glimpse into Bhutan's commitment to nature conservation and sustainable living.

    After the excursion, drive back to Punakha.

    Punakha – Paro (125 kms, 4hr drive)

    After breakfast, check out and drive back to Paro, enjoying a scenic journey through the picturesque Wang Chhu and Paro Chhu river valleys via the spectacular Dochula Pass.

    En route, visit the historic Simtokha Dzong, one of Bhutan's oldest fortresses, renowned for its traditional Bhutanese architecture and its role as a centre for the study of the Dzongkha language.

    Upon arrival in Paro, check in to your hotel before exploring the National Museum (Ta Dzong), home to an impressive collection of Bhutanese art, ancient artifacts, textiles, weapons, and cultural treasures.

    Continue with a short walk to the magnificent Rinpung Dzong, also known as the "Fortress of the Heap of Jewels." Admire its stunning Bhutanese architecture, intricate murals, and rich history while enjoying beautiful views of the Paro Valley.

    Paro (Tiger’s nest hike)

    After breakfast, embark on a memorable hike to the iconic Tiger's Nest Monastery (Taktsang Monastery), Bhutan's most famous landmark. Perched dramatically on a cliff approximately 900 metres above the Paro Valley, this sacred monastery is believed to be the meditation site of Guru Rinpoche, who is said to have arrived here on the back of a flying tigress. The round-trip hike takes approximately 5 hours and rewards visitors with breathtaking views and a truly unforgettable experience.

    After descending, visit the historic Drukgyel Dzong, a fortress that once defended Bhutan against Tibetan invasions, with spectacular views of Mount Jomolhari on clear days.

    Continue to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest and most sacred temples, built in the 7th century by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo. This revered temple marks the introduction of Buddhism to Bhutan and remains an important pilgrimage site.
